CHÂTEAU PIERBONE

The wines of Château Peyrabon

Like a puzzle patiently assembled piece by piece, each vintage is crafted with the passion and expertise that drive the Château Peyrabon team, led by Xavier Michelet and guided by the highly regarded oenologist, Éric Boissenot.
Château Peyrabon’s philosophy rests on a simple desire: to create wines that reflect the complexity of their terroir by revealing the unique character of each grape variety used in the blend.

Harmonious, powerful and elegant wines

The emblematic grape variety of Bordeaux’s Left Bank, Cabernet Sauvignon thrives in the warm, gravelly soils. This later-ripening variety, compared to Merlot, lends Château Peyrabon wines a rich and refined aromatic expression, with aromas of black fruit, blackcurrant, and violet, evolving into smoky notes with age. On the palate, it displays a superb structure with powerful yet balanced tannins, ensuring excellent aging potential.
The earlier-ripening Merlot brings a lovely roundness to the palate, with aromas of ripe fruit and licorice, while with time, scents reminiscent of truffles and forest floor emerge.
Less prevalent on Bordeaux’s Left Bank but full of character, Cabernet Franc guarantees aromatic finesse and complexity with its aromas of red fruit, raspberry, and green bell pepper.
A very late-ripening grape variety, sensitive to climatic variations, Petit Verdot, present in a minority of the blend, proves indispensable by contributing its tannic structure.
Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot thus bring their complementary qualities to endow the wines of Château Peyrabon with a unique complexity that defines their singular signature. Delightfully approachable in their youth thanks to their richness where fruit expression dominates, the wines of Château Peyrabon possess the exceptional longevity that distinguishes the great wines of the Médoc.
